Then came words...
Born in the blood
Steeped in the dark body
Beating...
Given wings on a quill
From far away they came
From dead fathers
From wandering tribes
From realms turned to stone
From when grief took to roads
And people found new land
New water
To grow their words again
Words that connected us
With the living, the dead
The unborn yet
To crown into light
The firmament quivers
With the first word sighed
The first cloaked in terror
The thundered and whispered
All merely droplets
Fine mist
Yet they fall and fall
And fall
These words abide
Forever pregnant
Filled up with lives
And sounds
Bringing strength and clarity
Sorrows and joy
Even destruction and death
All bearing tidings of the ages
Drink a toast
With reverence
From this chalice of blood
This burnished grail
This wondrous wine
Of worlds
Of song
Of life
